With year-round sunshine, fabulous beaches and a swinging nightlife, it's hardly surprising that Cuba is now well and truly on the exotic holidays map. The tropical climate, beautiful natural surroundings and easygoing way of life make this the perfect place to come for a relaxing holiday with a difference.

The largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba is one of the world's last surviving Communist countries and remains little influenced by American culture. However, Cubans are very relaxed and friendly and know how to enjoy themselves. At night the whole country seems to come alive as one to the pulsing Latin beats of sensual salsa and rhythmic rumba. What could be better than spending the evenings enjoying the delicious Caribbean cuisine, sipping local rum and watching majestic sunsets from one of the many salsa bars and clubs along the beachfront.

Cuba's interior is a beautiful mix of mountain ranges and plains, whilst the coastline is famous for its warm, crystal clear waters, romantic lagoons, caves and cliffs. It should be noted that wheelchair users will require assistance in most areas of the island. However, access around our featured hotels, Hotel Tainos and Nacional, is good. The resort of Varadero itself is one of Cuba's most beautiful and unspoilt locations and boasts an excellent Dolphinarium.

A visit to the capital Havana is a must. Famous for its cigars, Havana is full of character and is one of the finest examples of a Spanish colonial city. It's also a great place to shop in the open markets or enjoy the lively nightlife.
